The pathologist concluded that Abbandando died from “multiple gunshot wounds associated with blunt trauma.”

At 5:50 P.M. on the day he mowed Abbandando down, Rocco spoke with Jerry Brown in an interview room at North Miami police headquarters. In his report, the detective wrote:I was advised by Lt. Clint Shannon that the offender had indicated that he wanted to speak to me. Lt. Shannon introduced me to the offender. I asked him if this was in fact his decision to cooperate by giving a statement. He stated that he had turned himself in to a uniform officer and from the beginning had indicated his desire to speak with the investigator handling the case. I then escorted him to the detective bureau’s interview room where I asked if he had been advised of his rights earlier. He stated that he had and indicated that he never actually invoked that right. I explained that I had been told that he had told a uniform officer that he thought he should speak to an attorney. I further explained that I felt that this could be construed to be an invocation of this right to remain silent until he spoke with an attorney. He stated that wasn’t his desire at that time and at this time was interested and speaking to me. I then went over a written Miranda Form which I read to him and which he read back stating that he understood this right. He stated that he wished to show that he had cooperated with the police. He signed the form expressing his desire to speak with me and Det. Glenn Kinsey, who witnessed this waiver.

Subject Napolitano then explained how he had learned that the victim was responsible for the recent death of his brother, who was murdered. He wouldn’t provide facts to show how he knew for sure that the victim had his brother killed, stating that at the right time he would provide further information. He admitted that he had stalked the victim with the intention of causing a confrontation which he had hoped would lead to his ability to kill the victim. He had armed himself with a recently purchased shotgun, two semiauto handguns, and one revolver. Subject Napolitano stated that he was driving in the area of the Club owned by the victim, Party Girl’s at 11340 Biscayne Blvd., in search of the victim. He added that he was northbound just past the club when he observed the victim walking south on the sidewalk just east of Biscayne Blvd. He made the decision to kill the victim. Subject Napolitano explained that he swerved his vehicle into the victim. The right front of the Subject’s Vehicle collided with the victim, knocking him over the hood, against the windshield, then back to the pavement where he laid [sic] motionless.

Subject Napolitano stated that he walked up to the victim with his 9 MM semiautomatic handgun in his right hand. He took close careful aim and fired at least three times at the victim’s upper torso.
